Yates American No. 1 24" Facer/Jackson & Church Feeder
The Yates facer and Jackson & Church feeder both work. It was really a delight to blow off the Yates and give it a test bump on and then let it whirr away at full power. Sounded good and coasted nicely. The feeder ran up and down its posts and the fingered feeder belt ran easily. Bearings sounded fine on both. The Yates is a massive 24" across with metal rails bolted on each edge of the bed. Head has four blades, one at least has a nick that seems to match the profile of one of the fingers, hence the wooden stop blocks on the feeder belt frame. Beds/wedges move, though a bit stiffly. I would estimate that it is an early 1930's machine; if anyone out there has more information based on the badge, feel free to chime in. I guess that it could be tapped for a fence. There is a dust chute installed. Paint appears original and in good shape. Both facer and feeder have go out as a unit, though separate buyers would be welcome if two folks want to get together. More pics available. Central NC location

Comments: Note dust collection. The three pads under the YA legs seem to imply feeder was made around Yates. Base of J&C has clearance of about 1 ½; contacts floor under corners/legs. Switches for both are just behind RH post

Comments: Vertical height switch for feeder is inside circular housing just to right of infeed side. Appears to be a newer switch. YA bed adjustment wheel is smaller of two spoked wheels.
