This band saw was purchased 6-27-09 in San Antonio, TX. The previous owner mentioned he had it for some 10 years in his shop - where it was used in outfitting and building out custon aircraft interiors. The saw seems to be in pristine condition, except for the tires, cracked and missing a piece or two. Once the blade was tensioned and the door adjusted, it worked just fine.
Interesting to note is a tag on the front top door of the saw from Harron, Rickard and McCone Company, Los Angeles and San Francisco, probably the original vendor of the saw. Another tag found on the back of the curved arch with the name: U.S. Engineer Department - Los Angeles Division. Unfortunately the date of purchase and the model number information are not stamped on this tag. The motor also seems to be original - a huge 1 HP -110/220 volt unit with a cast iron housing, made by Century Elecrtic Company. No visible date stamp on the motor either.
Note the brass bar stock for the blade guides.
Seems to have one of the first passive dust collector systems - gravity feed down through the center casting of the saw.
If anyone has information dating this machine I would be very interested in learning of it.
