The only turning I had ever done was a very limited amount in high school shop class. I had been looking for an inexpensive lathe in order to try it again. I saw this lathe in an online classified add. The lathe, motor, and switch were mounted to a piece of plywood. You had to spin the motor to get it started. The price was right so I bought it.
I built a new stand for it and cleaned the sawdust out of the motor. I now have a working lathe to experiment with.
Someday I will probably restore and repaint the lathe and motor, but for now I am just trying to learn how to turn.
