Pair of 506's. A 12" which has been my primary jointer for the past 20+ yrs, and a recently acquired 16". As seen, the 12" is V-belt, 3HP intalled by me. The 16" is original DMD, 3HP. Both have round 3 knife heads. The 12" has the pocket gib style with square socket screws. The 16" has regular wedge gibs. It was necessary to make & harden a set of gibscrews for the 12, since they are non-common for pitch and socket and many of the old ones were broken. The 16" required regrinding all the gibs, since they were rusted, pitted, and far from flat, as well as making a new set of gib bolts. (Interestingly, the gibs on the 16" round head are hardened.) The 12" has an outfeed table extension, making the jointer 97" long instead of the typical 85". My plans are to put the 16" under a Bilstrom feeder for production facing. The 12" will continue to be used for all around handwork facing & jointing.
The 12" came from Littlestown, PA to my then shop in MD ca. mid 1980's. 16" came from Tiskilwa, IL a couple weeks ago.
