I purchased this machine from a boatworks, restored it and later traded it, plus a Craftsman 10" table saw, for an American brand 12" jointer which appears elsewhere in this photo index. The machine came to me with a direct drive W-T motor, which I removed and sold to a fellow OWWM member. The jointer appears in a 1941 Craftsman catalog. It's original paint color was Craftsman blue. I don't know when Sears started and stopped marketing this machine. The exact same machine was also sold by Walker Turner under their own label. This is an excellent piece of equipment with massive casting for its overall size, although the bed length is somewhat short. It is well engineered with the exception of the spring loaded casting for pivoting the blade guard. I have owned three of these machines over time and on all three this casting was broken. A parts list and exploded view drawing of the Walker Turner version of this machines [model 6520-1]is posted elsewhere of this web site.
