This machine came out of Crescent City California via the "Powermatic repair guy" in Tacoma, WA. It was loaded up and delivered to Tacoma, at no cost, with a pile of other machines being horse traded between the two regions.
This mortiser has a 3-phase, 1.5 HP Robbins-Myers motor. It is equipped with a 0-.5" Supreme Chuck that fits directly onto the tapered (Jacobs 33) arbor of the motor. Included was the often- missing, work piece clamp, original Furnas magnetic starter, and an Arrow Hart switch used inline as the safety disconnect. The fence is not pictured. The machine was originally sold by A.L Young Machinery of South San Francisco to the C.U.H.S.D (school district) and my Crescent City contact indicated he purchased it from junior high shop liquidation.
The only missing parts are the three handles and knobs from the rack and pinion turret. Some knucklehead welded the turret to the pinion shaft after the set screw failed and the bore wallowed on the turret.
