Located in South Bend, IN. through Craigslist 05/02/09 - $95.00. Cracked and hardened tires, heavy hand grinding done to back of upper blade guide to clear it (for what reason I don't know), both upper wheel bearings shot, lower wheel has .010" runout. Otherwise unit was complete and incluced a "Polar" 1/3hp switched base motor which I believe was purchased the same time as the saw according to what the catalog offered that year. All bolts and screws were never turned since factory and the upper and lower covers are dent free but need straightening and has a couple of extra drilled holes where a work light was mounted.
Currently under restoration. Right now I basically have it all taken apart ready for cleaning for repaint. I have wrote a company about new tires to fit my wheels. They are not 12" wheels as it is "classified". 12" is the throat depth the saw has. The wheels are actually 12-5/8" diameter. I will be able to clean all the parts up at work using the sand blast cabinet and the lathe for polishing the column. I will be trying to design my own ball bearing upper and lower guides in the meantime that I can machine at work.
So far, the upper and lower castings will have to be removed at work due to me not having the right tools at home to remove the locating pins that are staked in on both arms and the press will have to be used to remove the gummy bearings.
I am currently looking for a replacement laquer decal sheet for it and a clean original upper blade guide assembly. If anyone has an idea where to get either of these please let me know.
I am not sure if I will be going with my own colors on it or not yet.
