Found this in the garage of a retired union trim carpenter. Someone gave it to him in the condition I found it, and he said he had used it, but not for a number of years. Someone had drilled a hole in the main casting to allow the adjusting roller assembly to move out farther to accommodate a 54" belt, rather than the original 52-1/2" belt. You can see the hole that was left in the casting directly above the W-T badge. Sadly, they drilled through a portion of the badge as well. They also put a longer adjusting rod on the adjusting roller as well as used a small machine screw and nut to hold the T-handle on the rod rather than a tension pin. The one good thing is that they "wired" the original bolt from the adjusting assembly to the top of the table, so it was still there along with the nuts. It was covered in a nasty light green paint that was not original.

I disassembled it, removed the bearings, and media blasted nearly every part. I did not blast the drums for fear of removing metal and possibly damaging the tire on the driving drum. The parts were painted machine gray, the original color as best I could tell, and reassembled with the original hardware wherever possible and new bearings. The Craftsman motor is obviously not original, but does the job and will be left in place until I can find the appropriate replacement. The wood top, shelf and stroke sanding boards were stripped and sanded, but left unfinished for now. The base was also disassembled, media blasted and painted machine gray. It is waiting for a belt, but I am really reluctant to put a disc on it as I don't want to get that beautiful 10" covered with glue!

A big thanks to everyone in the forums for their help and guidance, and especially Rich McGowen who was kind enough to share some drive pins for the badges with a fellow OWWM'er. This is my first OWWM restoration, and I'm very pleased.
