This sawmill is up and running at the Shelby Iron Works, Shelby AL. These pictures were taken in 2004. The saw was donated to the Iron Works by Jerry Willis. It has a rack drive rather than the usual cable and drum or chain arrangement. It has a beautiful arched cast frame. Unfortunately the eagle that is shown in the drawings of these mills atop the scroll was stolen or lost long ago. It is a treat to see such an old saw purr through a log at their Annual Ironworks Festival though.
