A sad bastard.... The ad said "Old heavy duty cast iron Barnes drill press $50" I called the guy, he still had it and said " Gimme 20 and take it now- it has to go..." Off I went, thinking "camelback". When I got there I was a bit supprised to see this! I was expecting something a bit um, "heavier". The original cone pulleys and friction drive were removed and replaced with a real hack job of a motor drive. The outboard bearing sleeve casting was also broken. Totally useless. The guy was cleaning out one of those U-stor-m lockers and actively chucking stuff into the dumpster, well however useless, I couldn't let this cute little DP be the next thing in the dumpster!
I'm not really sure what to do with it now. Maybe a cool floor lamp next to the couch....
