This big drum sander is owned by Wilbur Yachts of Southest Harbor, ME. The patent dates tell us it was made between 1895 and 1897 (an 1897 patent is not listed, which provides the latter date). As well, Milwaukee Sander was merged into American Wood Working Machine Co. in late '97. So the machine was made in 1896 plus or minus a year.
Machine was in regular use until a couple of years ago when it went into storage. The pictures were taken as it was being prepared for the move, so the guards had been removed. The owner is planning to sell the machine.
