Acquired off CL from a young man who had put a lot of work into it, surface grinding, new Baldor motor, etc., but then set it outside for awhile. I de-rusted it, replaced some missing parts and painted it a California color to remind us of Los Angeles, sunshine, etc..
I put an older switch and motor on it.
It works exceptionally well. Required a substantial press to change the bearings as the arbor flange/double v-belt pulley must be removed.
This saw was equipped to be part of a combination machine.
The original motor pulley is missing. It was a flat pulley which would allow the belts to migrate with changes in the arbor tilt. The arrangement here does not allow a full tilt.
The man at the current "Davis and Wells", a used machine dealer, told me that the serial no indicated '33-'34, even though his own web site has the start date of the prior manufacturing concern as 1935, so not sure about the date.
