Pictured is a great old wood frame matching machine built sometime after the invention of expansion gearing. Small cast zinc builders plate reads "CHARLES BUSS MAKER MARLBORO, N.H." Set up with plain jointing knives on unlipped square side heads, but a variety of blade profiles and heads can be substituted. In place in a water powered saw mill located in Massachusetts.
About 15 years ago in Maine I saw a nice little cast iron framed planer also marked by Buss while at his Marlboro manufactory. What else is out there?
