Comments:
I recently bought this from a fellow who advertised it on Craig's List. He said it had come from an old cabinet shop. It came with a 3 HP Lima motor (3 ph, not shown) and a very old double shaft RI Delta motor, which we removed from the machine to lighten it. He dropped the motor on it's stout steel pulley bending the 3/4" shaft nearly 20 degrees. Thank God it didn't hit his foot.

The jointer, however, was loaded and unloaded without incident. It has a very stout 6.5" 2 blade, gibbed cutter head. The babbit bearings were in excellent condition.

This machine differs from the other 254s on the site in that it does not have a rabetting shelf. It also has a very crude fence which is effectively adjustable for angle only. Later versions of this machine had a translating fence which would be better for evening blade wear. Another intersting feature of mine is that there appear to be two sheared-off lock-screws for the ways (see below) none of the catalog images we have show lock knobs for the ways of this machine. If you have an image which shows this version, please post it, or send me a PM! Thanks for taking a look.

I'd like to get an orignal stand for this machine. But I fear that will take a long wait.
