Comments:
I puchased this lathe off of ebay from an individual in New Orleans for $125. I was told that the lathe came off of a family sugar plantation near New Orleans. Condition was weathered but good. The bearings haven't seen much use since being poured. The lathe came with a partially turned porch ballister between centers and the ballister pattern attached to a duplicator of more recent construction. The original chuck was set up for 6" square porch posts and had a more modern 4 jaw independent chuck attached as an afterthought. The only real apology on this lathe is that the seller broke a small section out of the largest diameter of the drive pulley while moving the lathe with his forklift. After looking at the catalogs, I think this must be a No 8 or No 9.
