I obtained this machine from a closed woodworking shop in Long Island in April 0f 2008. It was in perfect working order with original parts. It was rarely used. The fence rocker arm had been sheared (broken) but Cattail Foundry braised it to make a mold for a replacement part. Although I have the replacement part I am simply using the original rocker arm which Cattail braised. It is a beautiful machine, is fantastic for my woodworking needs and I'm proud to own it. This machine required no restoration other than the rockerarm repair. It is run by the original 3 phase, 1 HP, 3500 RPM, 40 deg C, 220/440 V, 3-1.5 AMP Commercial Duty Peerless Electric Motor made in Warren Ohio. The motor serial number is 645957.
The Wiki indicates "The lowest number serial numbers seen to date have at least four digits." "Five digits were used up until around 1947 or 1948." That would date this machine in the earlier catagory of pre-1947.
