This is the first jointer I ever used, going back to the 1960s as a child. I only today got this thing, as my brother was cleaning out and offered it to me. I really don't remember it as being much of a jointer but then again we didn't really have any idea about sharpness or proper adjusting or bearing replacement as children. I did try over the years but never had much luck with this machine. The fence, though, is actually quite good and I am impressed with that aspect of this jointer. Unfortunately the blade guard got broken in the recent past and I noticed that none of the others posted here had a guard. Until seeing the Wallace section I wasn't aware that this machine was this old.
