Spotted on eBay. Pictures reprinted with sellers permission.
What the seller said in the auction:
"13" single phase wood planer made for Allis Chalmers it is a model 170, came from and old woodworking shop and it is very heavy. Not sure of the age of it but by looking at the motor it is 1940s vintage, possibly 1950s."
(12/29/2008 original posting date)
This planer is unmistakeably of the Barton/Bend Iron Works lineage. It is our assumption that the tag that reads Allis Chalmers was affixed as a joke - note slotted screws. Model 170 is a tractor.
