This stylized version of a jointer entered the H. B. Smith product line in the early part of the 20th century. The first illustration is taken from the April 1912 American Carpenter & Builder magazine. The last two are from an eBay auction near Detroit, MI in February 2003.
This machine featured a 2-knife round head and was originally fitted with a flat-belt pulley. Smith had several models of hand jointers and they came in a variety of widths, as well.
