I bought it in 1990 from a saw sharpening company. I was just getting into woodworking and not only thought it was real neat looking but had a deep throat and could come in handy. Well, 13 years later, it has been completely dissassembled, and new seals and gaskets put on as well as a rubber boot, made of a section of bicycle tube, where the bottom armature that holds the lowert section of blade enters the machine. It works well as a dust seal keeping dust out of interior oil filled housing. It has also been stripped and repainted, and has been used maybe 5 times. I have a modern scroll saw that I use now. More efficient, but NOWHERE near as beautiful! The saw weighs 100 Lbs.! and purrs like a kitten.
I believe it is from 1930's??? All the other saws like this I see here and elsewhere have a more airstreamed look to them than this one, causing me to believe that it is earlier than 1940's????
I have to put a new smaller switch on it.
