Comments:
Was purchased from a used tool dealer about 5 years ago and had been sitting neglected ever since. It came from a school shop and was equipped with a 1/2 HP / 3 PH / 220V motor that I was never going to make use of. Finally I got around to working on it, and changed the motor to a new looking 110 V, two speed, 1/3 HP unit that I found on Kijiji for $10 (needed work). A new panel was fabricated to fit the original magnetic starter's place, which now houses the on/off, for/rev, and fast/slow switch controls. The start winding wires were brought up to the panel and connected to a DPDT / 15 Amp toggle switch to control the motor's direction. In the headstock shot you can see a 1-8" Left hand nut that I got at a bolt house......will be an outboard faceplate in the future. There is no serial plate on the bed's RHS and no evidence that there ever was one there.
