I purchased this lathe from a local luthier who was going to restore it but needed room in his shop. Other than being painted in an ugly tan color the lathe was in excellent shape. Lots of dirt and sawdust but hardly any wear. I do have a warning if you plan on restoring one of these: the lead screw has a sleeve in the left hand end that is pinned to the lead screw. It does NOT press off! DAMHIKT!
Other than the sleeve I'm waiting to hear about the lathe is complete. A variable speed DC motor and pulley system is in the works.
