For many years while in my dad's basement as a child, I would clamp things in this vise, and hammer things on the Anvil part, but I never knew where it came from, or what it was... Untill last This Month... (September 2008) When I was looking for a Motor Bracket that I had recieved on my Delta Homecraft Band Saw. (The Brackets ended up being Craftsman from the 40's). That is when I found a catalog on this site that was dated 1925... and in that catalog, was the same vise that my Dad had used for many years, and then let me mount it to my bench while I was still living at home. Well since I moved out in 2000ish, It has gone unused. When we used it, we never had the Drill Table... and one day the Drill Table just appeared! While looking at the Catalog, I saw the Crank Handle... and I remembered seeing that at my dad's house when I was a Child, and never knew what it went to... Well Yesterday I went to Dad's House, and Saved this Vise from who knows what.... and Sure enough, the Crank Handle was just where I thought it was!!! The only thing that is Missing is the "Hardie", Which I might have an Idea where it is IF my dad still has it. Upon askind my Dad where he got the Vise, he told me he got it from My Mother's Grand Farther...

It looks like at some point the tempered steel jaws were removed and the bottom of the vise jaws were either cut off or ground off. My Misson is to fabricate some new jaws from something that is available today, and Bring this Vise back to new Condition!! As you can see, I have everything I need to do this!
