Wood Working Machinery
Date of Manufacturer:

I purchased this machine on 09/20/2008 from a cabinet shop liquidation auction. A former employee of the shop told me they purchased this machine new from Powermatic in 1981 for $5,000. According to Bob Vaughan's 1997 price list - this saw would have sold new for over $9,000 with its full cast iron extension table.
It actually has two motors and controls. The main motor for the 12"/14" blade and a smaller 3/4~1HP motor for a smaller scoring blade. The scoring blade is useful for reducing chipout when cutting veneered plywoods.
I plan to replace the switches before putting it to work. Otherwise, it's ready to go.
Notice full cast iron extension table - estimated weight is approximatley 900lbs for this saw
Picture shows the main blade and the small scoring blade which pre-cuts the material first reducing chipout
