My old shop had a very scary Baxter 16" square head jointer when I bought it. I knew that I needed something better, so I bought this Wallace jointer from a friend who had it from his father and wasn't using it. For such a small machine with rather short tables, I was pleasantly suprised by what a workhorse this jointer turned out to be. It is a direct drive machine whth a three knife cutterhead. The tables are held down by springs, which was a way to save cost in manufacturing-the ways are not dovetailed. I used it for a couple of years until I found my L. Power 12". I needed the wider capacity, so I sold the Wallace.
