This saw has been in my family for three generations and is the pride of my workshop. My grandfather purchased it for use as a meat saw in his business. Later, my father put a Model T transmission on it to slow it down for metal cutting (it may have been the only 890 with 3 forward speeds plus reverse)and used it in his business. I inherited it about 12 years ago and refurbished it for use in my home shop. Still cuts like a dream. Manufacturing date is based on the open cast design on the pulley side and the original style lower blade guide adjustment mechanism. Somewhere along the line the pressed steel wheels must have been replaced with spoked wheels.
