Comments:
This was my first band saw. I bought it at an auction just down the road from my shop. It is a Parks, with the curious composite construction they used for several of their machines of this period. The base is made from angle iron rivetted together. This carries the lower babbitts and shaft for the wheel. The upper part of the frame is cast iron. The saw is set up for lineshaft drive whith tight and loose pulleys and a sliding fork to switch the flat belt from one to the other. I assume mine is older than 1937 because it had babbitts and the catalogue lists ball bearings. The guards are not listed with the saw although they are made by Parks. Altogether a nice little saw which I used for a few years until I found a bigger one.
