This is a 7-1/2 (15” swing) W.F. and J. Barnes camel back drill press, cast into its side the company’s name and the inscription, Patented. Nov. 12 1885. Despite it’s smallish size it still weighs in at about 500lbs. I got it localy bout 2005. It history is not very clear, seems about 30 years ago a 20 year old got it somewhere local (Plymouth Massachusetts) for his farther as a present. It sat in the garage unused. The cap for the rear babbit is cracked, other than that it is in very good shape considering it’s age.
