$75 at a garage sale. In good shape, very little in the way of an "arc of shame". Blue paint obviously not original but in good shape so I left it. Original motor missing, came with a replacement, holes drilled into the motor mounting plate to make it fit :-( Chuck is manufactured by Supreme Chuck, would this be original? Very low serial number, old style Delta badge.
UPDATE 1/20/2016 I saw Gary Brown’s drill press posting http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=25151 , same vintage as mine with serial number only a few thousand difference. His left side picture shows the patent numbers decal. Made me wonder what’s under all that blue paint on my press. So I removed my lamp and took a look, sure enough there’s a square outline visible through the paint and a little corner of decal peeking out through a paint chip. After some rubbing with lacquer thinner, the decal is mostly exposed. Not in the greatest shape, but nice to see it. Added a few pics below.
