This was a very surprising find. While checking out a big tool/garage sale w/ lots of stuff all over the place, this beat up rusty old machine was stuffed back up under the stairwell not even listed for sale. It was rusty, wires hanging all over the place, switch dangling, etc. I asked the seller about it and he said he was pretty sure it didn't work so didn't even try to include it in the sale. I looked it over, spun the arbor which was very smooth, saw the Arrow-Hart mag switch on the back, loved the nice CI stand, figured it had several useful parts even if it didn't run. We struck a deal for $50 and I brought it home. As soon as I popped the starter and the mag switch, I saw that someone had wired the ground wire to the switch and left the hot dangling. I swapped the two around and it fired right up, didn't take 5 minutes to troubleshoot. So I then took the time to do a strip/repaint, and added in a toggle inside a CH switch box that I already had in a cabinet. It now runs extremely smooth and quiet, and has the same nice dealer tag as my PM 60 jointer.
