Comments:
I unfortunately don't own this machine, but the seller was certainly keen to part with his "yard art" if he could get the money out of it that he had put in. Apparently it came from a pattern shop he used to use that was going out of business. He figured he'd just have to start making his own casting patterns, but it never happened. An interesting feature of this machine is that there is no apparent place to mount a fence. Maybe it was only used for flattening, and not for edging? Who knows. There is some thought that Bournival may have re-badged machines from other companies but we have little evidence of it either way. One opinion was expressed that it looked very similar to a British jointer of a similar era. The only marking on the entire machine is the brass badge.
