I collect Delta and Porter Cable. I mention this because , as my wife will tell you, I buy any brand of old iron if it looks sad enough and I have any money. Case in point, my third wood lathe .When I first clapped eyes on this lathe , it was rust covered and every moving part was immovable, but the guy dropped the price the second I appeared to think about it, so I got it for seven dollars. After getting it home, I noticed the big chunk of cast iron missing from the end of the ways. I freed every thing up, returned it to its vibrant blue glory , and installed new head stock bushings. Finally, I have a lathe that has provision for indexing. I am still on the hunt for a motor that fits the step pulley I have, but soon I will once again have a resurrected lathe to use very occasionally. For seven dollars, why not?
