Got the machine from my cousin around 1982. Where he obtained it I do not know. He tried to use it and would have to start the motor by tugging on the belt. He found another saw that was cheaper than a motor replacement and sat the Delta in an old barn. I got the saw from him and sat it in my mothers basement in hopes that some day I would get it working. Burned up a cheap Dremel scroll saw cutting Cub Scout plaques and remembered the Delta. Got it from the basement about 2 months ago (25 years later) and started to chip off all the years of rust and abuse. The photos are where I am now. Plan to build a table for it out of square steel stock. The motor photo is the only before photo that I have. Had to make all the decals, as I did not find anywhere to purchase them.
Resto is being done with elbow grease, sandpaper and a wire wheel in a drill. Decals were made from Testors "model car" water slide printable decal paper. I probably have about 25 hours in just typesetting the decals in photoshop. This was my first try at creating decals. Had to tear the motor apart and thoroughly clean it to bring it back to life. Saw was in pretty bad shape; had been repainted battleship gray and all decals had been removed. Missing the belt guard, 1 of the cleats that holds the blade and also missing the blower assembly. Repainted with base coat of red oxide primmer then Graphite Grey metalic and brushed silver metalic. (rattle cans from Auto Zone)
