I picked this saw up today from a guy who got it at a flea market, so he had no history on it. He had been using it to cut Plexiglas and some occasional wood. He ran it for me, but the drive pulley is out of balance, and the tires were either dry rotted (bottom), or home-made (top), so it vibrated pretty good. It was screaming to me to make it better.

There's no marking on the machine anywhere. Found a pic of it in the Duro catalog E-36A from 1936. By 1941's catalog, the front cover had a light housing molded into the cast iron, so I'm going to put it in the 30's.

The wheels are two-piece steel spinning on ball bearings in the top wheel, and probably plain (bronze impregnated?) bearings in the bottom. The top wheel is surprisingly smooth, runs true, and is almost balanced (has a home-made tire on it). The bottom is a little stiffer, but the wheel runs true without play.

The cover was broken at some point and repaired. The repair was okay, but I'll try to file it a little smoother before painting.

The tension adjustment was eliminated, it looks like somebody lost the spring, and just blocked up the wheel with extra nuts (removed in the pic, that's why the top wheel is not centered in its guard). The blade had to be walked off and on to change it. I already have a spring that should work for that.

I'll change the pics as I restore, but it'll be a while, I got a WT 16 in front of it.

Updated August 2008. Completed pics. The stand is MDF, and it has rollers on one sid of the cabinet. there is a dowel that pulls out on the opposite side so that the whole thing can be moved "wheelbarrow" style.
