I was fortunate to acquire this jointer last time. I fixed the guard at the rear and I install a new guard in front of the guide.
The original pieces are still available at GENARAL CANADA but they are very expensive (200 for $ guard). Pieces I used "GENERAL INTERNATIONAL" who have done very well for 45$. Very good machine.
