Hey, well I disturbed a little cluster of machines awaiting restoration today and this one jumped out for a mobile base and photos. It is at the bottom of the list for restro because it is fully funtional now and I am using it the way that it is. A little ugly but it works fine.
The history of this one is that while I was in Maui I bought this at a North Carolina auction. My big brutha Barry picked it up and Pottered it for me with another machine. In the meantime, I know it's hard to believe, we moved to North Carolina and set up shop. So.... this is one of the few machines to ever, ever escape from Barry's one way door storage facility. But escape it did, and now it is in our shop like it is supposed to be. This is the first time since 2005 that all the machines that I own are actually in my shop.
It is missing the motor tag and the cast badge does not have a serial number stamped in it. So serial number and vintage is unknown, hate that when that happens. There were only 3 leads coming from the motor, so I had to guess a little at the voltage, but it is wired for 480 Volts. It also sports an upside down but functional drum switch to reverse rotation. I like the Dynamic balanced tag which is stamped .0005 on the vibrometer reading.
