Belongs to a friend. Saw it for the first time today and had never seen one in the wild. He got it from someone that had restored it about 15 years ago. It has a newer 10 HP motor on it. It works well, runs smoothly and quietly. Does not have adjustable bed rollers, but the bed rollers are powered. Seemingly slightly more complex than the 225. There are gears and pulles on both sides. The feed rate could be taken down to very slow. The drive motor HP wasn't determined. Still had its black and brass tag saying sold by Hermance Machine Co., Williamsport Penna.

On the left, above the controls is a forward/reverse switch. On the lower right is the handwheel for the Reeves drive speed control. The Hermance tag can be seen to the left of the handwheel.

Right side gearing showing the Reeves drive at the lower left. The other pulley plus the double pulley is directly attatched to the drive motor.

Cutterhead area. The chipbreakers and sectional feed rollers both have 2" wide components. These rollers were very sharp and in good shape. The head is a 4-knife.
