This drill press was converted to an electric motor as seen. It was originally driven by a motor mounted at the base. Power was transmitted to a cone pulley and then to idler pulleys and the drive pulley through flat belts. Look under "Washburn Shops" for a drill press much like the Francis Reed.

I have started assembling this press and will be making appropriate pulleys and flat belt drive. I just finished rebuilding a Westinghouse motor to drive it. I will be posting finished pics when done.
