I purchased this saw along with a Companion 1/3hp motor, 10"x34" flared leg stand and a Childs & Co. 8" disc sander, for $30 from Craigslist.
The previous owner told me the set-up originally belonged to his Grandfather. Pick-up was Livonia Michigan, 10Jan08.
Companion 103.0401 11" scroll saw.
The table is 9"x9" which dates it to the late 1930s.
Casting numbers: 12224-103 main body, 12223-103 table.
Machine pulley is 4" and the recommended motor speed is 1750rpm with a 2" pulley.
The crankcase takes SAE40 oil.
Overall, the saw is in excellent condition. I'll do some spot cleaning and put it to work.
The only issue is the tilt indicator arrow is missing.
Upon initial inspection, the basic configuration is very similar to the Dunlap 103.2179 scroll saw of the 1950s.
Update-Sep2010: this saw now resides in the Ray Muno collection.
