I purchased this saw from the nephew of the original owner. The saw spent most of it's life in Oklahoma. The photos show the saw in the condition I found it, other than cleaning up the table. It appears to be all original and complete, with the exception of the fence. The rails were shortened on both ends at some point, limiting the right hand cut to about 20". The motor appears to be a 1 hp RI motor, single phase, wired for 120 volts. The hp rating is a guess on my part since the motor's data tag is missing.
I found the saw through an advertisement in the Denver Craigslist. It was listed as a "table saw", along with many other tools the man had recently inherited from his uncle. Most of the tools had been sold by the time I contacted him, but he still had this saw, and was hoping to liquidate as many items as possible before moving his shop.
When I first saw it, I'd never heard of a four foot Unisaw, and didn't know when it might have been built. We powered up the saw and the motor wasn't able to hold it's operating speed, it kept cycling up and down as though something was very wrong inside. It turned out the 100' 16 gauge cord the seller had plugged into was starving the motor, but I didn't figure that out until after I'd worked him down a bit in price. All in all it was a good deal.
