I acquired this shaper several years ago and used it as plug-n-play until recently restoring it - stripping the brushed-on layers of paint, freeing up the raise/lower mechanism, repainting it and putting on new decals. The previous owner had just changed the bearings so I left them alone. It had a smallish motor on it and I put on a new 2hp single phase, which powers it nicely. This model is nice because it is effortless to switch from the 1/2" to the 3/4" spindle. It came with the original fence and I picked up a B-C miter gage later on. When I repainted it, I left the holes to mount the decorative moldings, intending to have new ones made at an auto body shop. Obviously, I haven't gotten around to that.
