I picked up this little sander for a song at a garage sale, mounted w/ the motor on a unique, and heavy, iron pipe stand. It was in very sad shape, but running, though the disk had a substantial wobble while spinning. A fellow OWWMer helped fix that problem by chucking it up in his lathe, truing the shaft and surfacing the disc face. I brought it home, stripped the sander, motor, and stand completely, and cleaned and repainted everything. I remounted the motor onto a much more solid platform than it had been on originally.
The sander is an oiled brass bushing design, and is typically seen as a component in a Homecraft DeltaShop combination machine, along with other components that can include a table saw, jointer, drill press, and saber saw. In any event, it runs like a charm, takes up a very small space in the corner of the shop, and is my go-to sander more than any other.
