I don't know any history on this, other than the person I got it from had acquired it at an estate sale, grouped in a large lot of old non-woodworking equipment she wanted. She was giving it away in via an on-line ad, located about five minutes from my house. It was in working condition, with a lot of surface rust on machined surfaces. All parts appear to have been complete. I brought it home, cleaned it up over a weekend, rewired the electrical, and sold it to a local woodworker. The cast iron base did not need repainting, only cleaning to remove decades of oil, gunk, and sawdust. I considered keeping it because it's so neat looking and runs well, but in the end it only spent a bit less than a week at my place.
