Ekstrom Carlson Model # 111 Non-Oscillating Edge Sander. Serial #277. 12/27/07
Hey,
Just got this little sander for one of next years projects. Right off the bat I had a couple of surprises, first off the thing is a lot bigger than I thought, and this is the first time I have actually seen one in the flesh. Also the nice cast stand seems to make it look bigger. Next surprise was the rare little end table, which seems to be often missing on these, was covered with a piece of really rusted plate steel and I thought for sure that meant it was broken. Removed the plate and lo and behold, it was all good! Love that when that happens.
The apologies are the missing platen, the drive wheel shaft is snapped off the non-original Baldor motor, and some rather shabby repairs to the bracket for the end table. The machine has a lot of rust, and big paint chips but I think it might be original paint. The badge has a serial number of 277, in very old font, stamped in it. I have not been able to figure out old EC serial numbers.
If ya see any parts for one of these, let me know!
