AMF/DeWalt RAS Model MBF. Rel No. 218. Saw S/N 202340. Motor S/N 56082217. From motor S/N, believe BOD to be August, 1956.
Picked this up on last day of an estate sale. Appears complete and in good order. Not that familiar yet with the saw, however from literature think that the switch was originally key-activated and has been changed to a toggle. All else looks to be original including possibly the table boards. These are solid maple. Even has an older DeWalt-branded blade, abet a bit dull.
Overall very clean and appears well cared for.
Carriage glides smoothly in arm. Ways feel smooth and show no visable indications of wear upon initial inspection. Motor powers up normally, though with a bit of clicking at startup and shut down. Will have to check into that. Motor takes 1-3/4 minutes to spin down when shut off, so I would say the bearings are in good shape for now. Will need a new power cord as insulation is cracked. Otherwise just that and a sharp blade and it seems ready to use as found.
Came with shaper guard. Previous owner had used a two-cutter head with straight cutters. I presume for jointing. Cutter head wasn't original and I didn't like the two-cutter configuration, so left that behind. Estate sale staff had dumped loose contents of workshop onto tables with stuff all jumbled together. Hate that. Rummaged around but didn't turn up any manuals or other accessories or parts that I recognized.
