Comments:
I previously submitted this machine in received condition. I have since done a near complete restore. New bearings, new belts, the arbor was damaged and needed to be rethreaded to 1/2" because of damage to the threads. I took the paint numbers from the WIKI area and used them for a color match, which is very close to the original. I either used electrolysis or wire brushes to remove all the rust on every nut, bolt, washer, screw etc. The table was reground, but the extensions couldn't be ground so they were filled and painted. I kept a running total on the machine, $52 to buy it, $175 for the table, $50 for paint, $15 for belts, $42 for bearings, $25 for the rethreaded arbor and heavy washer, Total $359 along with around 75 hours of labor. I still have to make a throat plate and detail the handles so that the edges aren't painted, a miter gauge, and a micrometer adjustment clamp will finish it off. I enjoyed the restoration but I also couldn't wait to finish it. This saw passed the nickle test immediately and adjusts smoothly. I tried to follow the color pattern on the badge, but the badge was damaged by someone using a grinder near it and nicking the edges, and actually tearing a small piece off one edge. My original posting said I hoped to restore the machine and darn I did it.
