I picked up this sander along with a 1949 model for 75.00 on ebay. The seller could not get it to track so he give up on them. I was hoping to get both sanders restored but the 49 was in terrible shape. I stripped, primed and repainted, replaced all the bearings, and installed an old 1 hp Westinghouse Motor. The steel platen was flat and looked in good shape. I installed a 6" strip of graphite canvas during the rebuild. A AB magnetic starter was also installed. It's missing the Disc sander and I hope to find one to make it complete. It now tracks well and runs smooth but the steel stand is not the quietest thing.
