This is a model 37-207 6" jointer built before WWII - pre-1940 based on the decals on the stand and motor and the Delta disc on the jointer. There was no serial number tag in this era so it is not possible to determine an exact date of manufacture. The motor is a Delta model 900, the premium motor of the time, with the switch box built in to the cast iron bell at the end of the motor. It uses a rod from the motor to the top of the stand to turn the motor on and off. At the time the picture was taken I had not fabricated the rod yet. Note that the blade guard is not the proper one and in fact it does not cover the cutting head. It will be replaced. Although not seen, this jointer has the two piece cast iron belt guard. Unfortunately, the top part of the cover, the portion that covers the top pulley, broke off sometime in the machine's life. The spacer blocks under the motor are an oddity, but they are original in terms of spec. You might notice that in back of the 37-207 is my 1905 Crescent 8" jointer.
