My sainted mother found this jointer at a resale shop and called me to come get it while she stood guard over it. Upon getting it home, my equally sainted wife helped me haul it in pieces to the workshop. This unit started out in life as a very nice 6" jointer. Unfortunately, someone decided that it needed more power, so they torched a nice big hole through the front casting and crammed a 1hp twin arbor repulsion start monster in the stand, punching a ragged gash in the otherwise perfect original switch cover.I am reasonably sure that the motor was formerly powering an 8" jointer, considering the speed (1725 rpm) and the nearly mint condition of the tag (meaning the motor has been inside something its whole life).Right now the plan is to restore the stand (somehow) and place a 1/2 hp motor in it. As far as the motor and jointer go, I have no idea.I have no need for two jointers and have nothing this motor would be right for.I will be much happier when the giant gack in this stand is fixed. If the conditions are right, anyone in Wisconsin can hear Delta founder Herbert Tautz actually spinning in his grave.
