Purchased used Oct. 20 2007. Previous owner Unity Trim St. Catharines On. They purchased it used from a dealer around Cambridge On sometime in 1980"s
Note the correct blade length for this model as posted on the General website http://www.general.ca/pagemach/machines/0general/390a.html
is 147" NOT 148" or 148.5" as stated in some of the manuals.
This saw was in generally good condition but showing signs of neglect and abuse. Drive pulleys were over 1" out of alignment. Top wheel was also badly aligned and the adjustment bolts were loose. Lower guide thrust bearing had disintegrated.
Does anyone know the correct procedure to align the top and bottom wheels? I used the Table as a reference point and 2 straight edges vertically across both wheels to achieve alignment but it was a long time consuming process. After leveling the machine using the table I noticed the main frame spine was still showing 1/4" in 4ft out of vertical.
